Employee Spotlight is a Cohear blog series meant to share more about the amazing individuals on our team.We are excited to introduce you to Rod Walton, Cohear's Director of Operations

We’re so excited to have you on the Cohear team! How did you first hear about Cohear and what was your initial impression?
I heard about Cohear through a mentor and advisor informing me of the incredible work they were doing around Cincinnati. Initially, I was intrigued yet still unaware of how significant the impact Cohear was making the unique nature of the value proposition.
Can you tell us a little bit about your background and your background and what lead you to Cohear?
My background is in idea generation/creation and organizing. I previously ran a business for ten years that scaled across three cities. We raised institutional funding and got immersed in the startup, tech, and entrepreneurial scene across those cities. Those experiences helped shape my knowledge of communication project management, overall branding and awareness, and the importance of telling the story to capture an audience. After that business, I got into consulting, which led me to work with Cohear to help organize operations to scale the business and put an infrastructure in place to offer a unique value proposition to more people.
What are you most excited for in your role at Cohear?
I'm excited to help scale the idea that everyday experts need to be at the table and shape how decision-makers are thinking and making decisions. I'm also eager to organize around infrastructure to scale the concept horizontally across a range of geographic areas and vertically to dive deeper with the clients we have in different sectors and areas of their business or organization to offer relevant solutions that benefit the community large.
Is there anything about Cohear’s work that you find most surprising or enjoyable?
Honestly, I love the Cohear team. Everybody is super intelligent, super authentic, and extremely genuine about the work they're doing. Everyone is also unique in their own way, which gives us a superb blend of perspectives and a lot of skills that we can pick up from one another.
What are some of the goals you have with your role at Cohear?
The goals I have for Cohear are to take the organizing process and organize it in a way that makes it easier to bring more everyday experts to the table and empowers our bridgebuilder network through relevant offerings to increase their quality of life.
