Employee Spotlight is a Cohear blog series meant to share more about the amazing individuals on our team.We are excited to introduce you to Clair Rueth, Cohear's Policy and Communications Intern



We’re so excited to have you on the Cohear team! How did you first hear about Cohear?

I heard about Cohear through a friend, now colleague, Jasmine Ayres.


Can you tell us a little bit about your background?

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Columbus after graduating high school to attend college at The Ohio State University where I would get my Bachelors degree in Public Management and Policy Analysis. Fun facts about me are I am a first generation college graduate, I have been recognized by organizations like The Children's Defense Fund, The Ohio Association for Juvenile Court Judges and Ohio State University's Department of Social Change for my work in the community, I enjoy cooking and although I haven't been to many places yet I enjoy traveling and trying new foods. My passions in life are within mental and physical health, creating access to wealth for the undeserved and traveling. Part of my life long goal is to establish generational wealth for myself and others by creating systems that would allocate resources from large institutions to smaller institutions and to communities. I am excited to be a part of the Cohear team!


What are you most excited for in your role at Cohear?

As a community organizer at Cohear I look forward to connecting community members with local decision makers to create sustainable opportunities. I am passionate about delivering the best quality services to the communities I serve.


Is there anything about Cohear’s work that you find most surprising or enjoyable?

Regarding the work Cohear does, I was most surprised at the concept of Cohear being a Company doing public service instead of it being an organization. I think this is impressive as a entity that serves the public because it gives the company the flexibility to operate as a business instead of an organization and that will provide more sources of funding which can help with operations and


What are some of the goals you hope to get out of your role with Cohear?

My goals in the role of a Community Organizer are to connect with as many people as possible to provide a diverse and passionate group of people for the focus groups and to connect people to other people, information and opportunities.


What are three words you would use to describe yourself?

Passionate, Thorough, and Fluid.


Do you have a favorite travel destination?

Not yet, although I would like to travel throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Throughout the Middle East and Africa.


How about your favorite movie or TV show?

No favorites although I enjoy anything with a good story, suspenseful and witty.


Anything else you want to add or share about yourself?

I enjoy getting connected and expanding my network. I believe everyone has something to contribute and networking can be a transformational tool.
